Canadian stories on CBC Radio’s ‘The Current’

Vancouver opposed to pipeline expansion; Warrior Nation: Noah Richler; Inuit Leader: Mary Simon – all on CBC’s ‘The Current’

Hello ‘The Current’:

Thanks for a great show. I loved every  item you had on this morning and it made me think how thankful we CBC lovers are to have ‘The Current’ and other programming, some of which are being cancelled. I love ‘Dispatches’ too which we are losing. I found myself thinking that we would not hear stories like the ones you did this morning from private radio. For example, private radio would not wish to promote a book (What We Talk About When We Talk About War), by Noah Richler that exposes the deliberate attempt to militarize Canadians because they would be beneficiaries of the military-industrial complex. Mary Simon’s (Inuit leader) comment that sovereignty in Canada’s north is much better secured by the people who live there than by militarization alone would likely be an unwelcome comment on private radio too.

Thanks again for your wonderful programming.
